Jeremy Lin signs with Brooklyn

I'm really excited by this news!

I thought he should go to Houston to reunite with Coach D'Antoni, but secretly I hoped he would go to Brooklyn so I could go see him play 41 times next season, a subway ride away.

I love Jeremy Lin. The Knicks and everyone else will learn a lesson about expectations. New York is going to love this. And the Nets finally found a way to be relevant to New Yorkers.

PS: This is the first time I learned of news on Facebook. So they are actually doing news now in a way that's relevant to me. Kudos.

PPS: Not only is this good business, it's also good basketball. Lin is young and healthy. 3 years is very realistic, and beyond. The Nets had been doing what the Knicks do, trying to "win now" and it's failed utterly. The better approach is to be patient, and provide entertaining basketball for the fans, and let us take a long term view along with you. Basketball is best savored over many years, not in any single campaign. Lin has longevity and that says there's some kind of thought going into restarting the team, beyond the very very unlikely "win now" approach.
