22 years ago today I wrote my first blog post.

It went out via email to people I had met at tech conferences over the years, and was published to the web. 

I didn't know it would catch on, but I did know it was something new. I was just telling my business friends that there was a product rollout in San Francisco that they might want to go to.

Then I followed it up with some ideas I had for people who ran IBM and Apple, and then my vision for PDAs (an acronym for Personal Digital Assistant, today we call them smartphones). Then I got a response and sent that back out to my followers and something new was born. 

Many years later this was called a weblog then shortened to blog. It begat podcasting and syndication, and later Twitter and Facebook. 

All that started 22 years ago today.
