People don't understand something very basic about themselves.

This: You have many voices inside yourself.

You're a virtual community of voices. Always chattering at each other. Disagreeing. Being very personal with the others. Not playing nice.

So if you read something and "hear" something in what the author is saying that you don't actually see in the words, that's just one of your internal voices making up shit about the other guy.

Because no matter what you do, as harsh as the voices are about you, they are equally hard on the people you interact with, who of course have their own chorus of assholes screaming at them inside their heads.
