A Money Idea for Apple

We run three Mac servers here at scripting.com.

There are some major annoyances with using these machines. They're small, slow, I look at them and wonder if I couldn't replace them with a single machine.

I'm sure there are lots of little glitches Apple could fix. All they have to do is start a mailing list, and ask Mac webmasters to tell them what they want. The feature list would be short, easy to engineer.

I'd buy one

I'd like to replace the three Macs we have with a new G3 honker with a big hard disk lots of RAM and a faster file system. Preconfigured with a web server, mail server, and a bunch of CGI apps that work out of the box.

With the right configuration Apple could probably sell 250K of these machines in the first six months. There's got to be a lot of money left on the table here.
