Testing with PageMillGuess what? I'm using PageMill as the text editor for this page, and soon my whole website. It's cooooooooool.
Lots of things work. Some examples. Here's a bunch of double-quoted glossary references: "Brian Zisk", "Barton", "Bernie DeKoven", "cynsa", "Glenn Davis", "Guy Kawasaki", "Larry Ellison", "Marc Canter", "Stu Gannes", "Dave".

For the next level of testing, I linked the sample "Earth and Ware" home page that comes with PageMill into my Clay Basket website to see what happens. It works. I had to manually upload the images, but that's the philosophy (or seems to be) of PageMill.
So far there are a few problems to report...
First, I wish there was some way to change the default font for text. I think this is Palatino 10 I'm typing in now. It's really hard for me to read. I'm accustomed to Palatino 12 or 14. Every editor I use has this feature. It's a lot to give up. I just sent an email to the "PageMill List" asking about this.
Another problem, when we send it a message to open a new file, we first create an empty file, then send an AE to the editor to open the file. PageMill puts up a modal dialog when its in the background. In the world of Apple Events this is a no-no. It's not clear why it needs to complain about this situation at all? Why not just handle it without saying anything? It may appear picky, but it's going to be a support issue.
Remember when you edit a file that you need to click on the icon at the top-right corner of the window to enable editing.
I'm also going to bitch about the lack of menu sharing support. I'd like to be able to put a Page Preview command in their menu bar, as I have in all the other apps I use, including BBEdit. To view the page in Netscape I have to switch into Clay Basket.
On the other hand, I like the fact that it doesn't complain when I send an AE to it to open a file that it already has open.
