Great piece. One thing the "chairmen" (and aren't they all MEN) still haven't realised is that the whole thing about this personal computer stuff is that is exactly what it is - personal empowerment, for everyone, users, programmers, designers, everyone. And the point about the 'net is that we can now do that in an n-dimensional space all at once - entirely _different_ picture, a picture that we don't even realise how stupendously different it is. One more thing (until I think of the next one - apologies if I'm drivelling, but I've read and enjoyed lots of your pages, and this is _not_ a flame...); humankind is here because we are _the_ co-operative animal on the planet; as a race, we stand or fall because we work together; BIG clue, methinks...
Why am I writing to you tonight (because it is here)? I just _talked_ to my very disturbed 21 year old son for the first time for... a long time today. We started to co-operate; it felt good. Together, we (Kris and I) are more than our separate parts, and the energy level is squared, not doubled, and the problems will get solved quicker. Suck on that, Bill, Larry et al.
Cheers - keep up the spirit.
(No sig. 'cos what do I need to prove?)
