Let's Have Fun -- Now! AN INTERESTING TWIST ABOUT JAVA APPLICATIONS AND WINDOWS

Hi Dave,

I enjoyed the boardroom quote about Java you posted. Check out http://www.cooper-peters.com for a look at a Java suite that looks just like Microsoft Office. A lot of Java applications will be pixel-equivalent to the WIndows 95/NT 4.0 interface, including the applications generated by my company's j.rad client/server database development environment. Running a Java appication on a $500 network computer is going to have the same user experience as running it on a Windows machine. Java is going to "embrace and extend" Windows.

There's not much Microsoft can do about it; software developers will say that they want their applications to look like Windows applications since they're mostly going to be running on Windows anyways!
