Chalk up another causulty of Apple's neglect of their customers... I prefer my Dell 486 laptop to my 2 PowerBooks (180 and 540c) because it has hardware floating point and Win95 is cooolllll. I'd like to buy a new Power PC powerbook but they don't have lithium, they cost too much, and they are sloooowwwww.

BTW-I really enjoy your DaveNet pieces. Great stuff!

I just hope Apple pulls out of their tailspin before they hit the ground. I--just like you--want Apple to succeed. I have spent a decade writing Macintosh code, writing Macintosh books, and spreading the word about how cool the Mac is.

Now Win95 is where it is at. You can copy and paste files with Win95! Just like I tried to do in 1984 on my first Mac, but it did not copy files, just fileNAMES. Win95 actually does UI right. It is better than the Mac, and it is an improvement! Sad to say, but Microsoft has been innovating while Apple has been litigating and stagnating... Sad to say indeed.

Thanks for listening,

Dan Allen Apple Employee 1985-1994 and co-author of MPW Shell, MacsBug, and HyperCard, among other things. Microsoft Employee since 1994 working on Visual C++ for Macintosh.

P.S. - I still use MORE. Great stuff.
