Interestingly, you have *more* credibility than a run-of-the-mill journalist because you're on a soapbox grinding your private axe. It's easy to understand your bias and to judge your words accordingly.

With typical journalists, you never know whether what they write is their voice, the voice of their editor, publisher, or advertisers.

And no, many of these companies whining about you don't display any tolerance for print journalism--there's always a strong current of censorship running through the press, only it's done in the back room by PR flacks.

So rant on!
