That's Amerigo Bonasera.

And the Don didn't say take a hike. That was not his way. The Don said I will help you as a friend and some day (and that day may never come) I will ask you to do me a service.

The day did come. It was after Sonny was lured to a fatal ambush on the causeway.

Bonasera was an undertaker. The Don asked Bonasera to to use his arts on the corpse of Santino (Sonny), so that his mother would not have to look at his bullet-riddled face.
