I recognize that argument -- very well done, with a few new twists. Good job Chris!
But isn't there's a line in here somewhere? Or are you claiming that it's inconceivable that a platform vendor could have enough power to restrict free speech? Or are the concepts of free speech and software totally incompatible?
Another angle, perhaps Apple has the right to put developers out of business. But, Chris, is it smart for Apple to do so?

PS: Following your DaveNet example, I welcome competition. If you want to start a web/mail rantnet, let me know and I'll be happy to include a pointer in a DaveNet piece! If I had a competitor here, I could harass them, and they could return the favor. It'd be fun. Hey, I'll even let you use my tools! (They run on the Mac, of course.)
