AMELIO, PROSE, PRO'S, SCRIPTING

Dave,

I enjoyed your latest Davenet, and was very encouraged to see Mr. Amelio's reply, as it made me think he (1) has a grasp I can believe in on moving Apple forward, and (2) understands the power of communicating personally, electronically.

As an aside, this is a good example of a trend I have observed, which is that it is possible to communicate and establish improved relations with your most vocal critics when they are inclined to read and write over the network. We have, in fact, begun to market a 'BrandWatch' product that helps our clients, major brands, monitor mentions of their products, and, over time, I expect to see them personally contact those influentials who are affecting those brands (like Dave Winer effects Apple).

Personally, knowing you over the years, it comes as no surprise that you write prose and software, especially as the software you write (scripting? is this some sort of linguistic acrobatic effort to connect the act of creating software with the act of creating prose? And hey! if there are verbs in software, why not obscenities?)

Thinktank. Brainstorming. Frontier. Webstorming. Davenet. Brainstorming. Verbs. Objects. Language. Do I detect a pattern here?

Ciao for niao,

DSC
