RE: MICROSOFT IN THE MAC MARKET

I thought your article on Internet Explorer 3.0 was pretty interesting, so I tried to download the public beta, and discovered that 3.0 is only available for 95 & NT right now from their web site.

Unfortunately Microsoft is practicing the same strategy as many cross-platform developers right now--do the Windows version and "get around to" releasing the Mac version. I've seen that with a lot of the cool stuff, like Pointcast, and wonderful crashy quality of Netscape for the Mac.

The company I work for, Voxware, is no exception--resource constrained--though I'm working pretty hard to change that. Part of it is the difficulty in getting hard market numbers for Mac Web tools penetration vs. Windows 95.

I look at this trend, and it scares me, being a Mac developer. Without any real experience developing for Windows, I'm glad I also have embedded-systems experience.
