Flushing WebSTAR's CacheChuck Shotton, the lead developer of the WebSTAR http server, was over for a visit a couple of weeks ago. He looked at my setup and found a problem.WebSTAR keeps a cache of file info. When you update a page, you need to tell WebSTAR to flush its cache or it will keep serving the old version of the page from its cache. Oooops. We wrote a three-line script to sends an Apple Event to WebSTAR telling it to flush its cache. The script is embedded in this page. If you run a WebSTAR server on your LAN you need this script. I call the script from the finalFilter script for all my websites. It's quick and it works. Tue, Sep 23, 1997 at 6:22:05 AM by DW |
