Getting close
I believe I am getting close to being ready to post from this liveblog to the Liveblog panel on Scripting News.
What's been there until now has been an experiment. Just to create the first connection between the two worlds. It's like building a bridge, you start with a thin, temporary piece of wire, and use that to haul up a bunch of thicker wires. Etc.
For the Scripting News rendering, I'm going to hide the Likes.
This experiment will be interesting because people who view Scripting News will be maintaining a live connection with the server. I wonder if I will live to regret this!
But -- I am using Node.js and my code is (I think) fairly efficient. So it should scale up easily. We'll learn about that right now.
