I just sent a screen shot of this page to a very small number of friends.

In case you decided to see if that was a mock-up or if it was for real, it's for real. I have a very user-friendly interface for entering and editing material on this page. It is not an outliner. I am sure you would think it is from the layout, but it is not. It's something different. I think nicer for this application, believe it or not. Yes, I actually did say that. wink

That was me doing my NakedJen imitation. kiss

  • I couldn't have done this if I wasn't using Facebook. And I feel totally okay about that, because the guy who designed the Facebook we use now was the same guy who did FriendFeed, and we know where they got their ideas from. They never hid that, good for them! blush

  • This also isn't RSS. I tried it with RSS at first, and I didn't like the result. So I took a different approach. There has been a lot of iterating. Ted C Howard and Andrew Shell were in the loop. I needed people to be in my loop, to simulate blog readers, while I tried out a dozen different approaches. (BTW, I can edit this stuff, it isn't set in stone.)

  • I am also really happy with the server. It's written in Node, running in Amazon's cloud. It seems perfectly capable of maintaining a connection with normal Scripting News readers, most of whom probably are unaware that anything new is happening in the Liveblog panel.
