Just a moment to say how much I hate "Moments" on Twitter.

It not only breaks brain cells, but also breaks what Twitter was best at: a stream of short posts you subscribe to, that is relevant to you, in terms only you understand, and can't be guessed at by machines.

"The best of Twitter in an instant" is a judgement call by some algorithm. It's also one-way broadcast of news & celebrity shit you can get anywhere (and Google News does a lot better). That it shoves Notifications aside is stupid as well as wrong. Without Notifications, posting on Twitter would be like pissing in a river.

I go back and forth between hope and despair over whether we'll ever break out of silos like Twitter, Facebook and the rest of them. Currently I'm hoping.
