Relaunching an instance
1. Terminate the instance by right-clicking on it AMI and Instances panel of Elasticfox. It probably would have been a good idea to shut it down in Windows first, but I didn't do that.
2. Attach a volume, if you want to attach it as Drive E, then enter xvde as the device name.
3. Log into the instance with Remote Desktop Connection.
4. From the Start menu choose Run, then diskmgmt.msi. In the lower pane click on Disk 2, right-click, choose Import foreign volume, and it should mount.
