Overcoming influential pundits

It's great to see Marc Canter get the recognition he deserves. It's been a long road for him, a lot of the pundits are put off by Marc's directness, enthusiasm, certainty. I always listen to people like Marc (there aren't many) because I want to get new ideas, and over the years I've gotten plenty of them from Marc.  

Speaking of influential pundits, what's Clay Shirky's problem with Second Life? Hey man, lighten up, a bit. It couldn't possibly be as bad as he says it is.
