Is AppleTV a DVR?

When it was announced it didn't sound like it was a DVR, but then it doesn't have to.  Permalink to this paragraph

A picture named ohRudyIsntThisAFunPlace.jpgA Mac, on the same LAN as AppleTV could do all the DVR functions, maybe even an Airport Extreme could do it (it has a CPU). I don't think an iPhone, with its limited storage could be one, but you can be sure it will interface to the TV, through AppleTV, of course. All Apple needs is a network-present interface for your TV. Sheez, with that it could even do what Sling does, if they're sufficiently clever. Permalink to this paragraph
