My iPhone has gone read-only again

I can't get even get a podcast to copy onto my iPhone. Permalink to this paragraph

I can get it into iTunes, but everything in the iPhone section of iTunes is grayed out. When I try to drag something into it, it scrolls it out.  Permalink to this paragraph
