Questions to ask PalinThursday, September 11, 2008 by Dave Winer. Are there elite races and religions? One I'm dying to know about are Jewish people. Are we elite? (Our culture values education after all, and we tend to live in big cities, even though my ancestors came from small towns just like yours.) What about blacks, are they elite? Is all this talk about elites really just dog whistling for "Vote for us we're not Jewish or African-American?" Come on of course it is! We weren't born yesterday. And let's see, tell us about the education your kids are getting Sarah. And how about health insurance, is it included in your benefit package? And don't you have a college degree? How much education can you have before you're an elite and your opinion doesn't count? I love the way you were able to get your doctor on the phone when you were pregnant. How many of us normal people do you think can do that? The point being of course is that the people she says she's one of are being taken for a ride, she's one of us folks. Her kids go to good schools, if they get sick they get cared for, they see dentists regularly. They'll get good jobs, too. And when she gets to Washington what do you think the chances are that she's give a shit about you? And if you think she will help you I've got a bridge to sell you. A bridge to you know where. |
