Gates to SculleyFriday, October 24, 1997 by Dave Winer. In 1985, Bill Gates, CEO of Microsoft, sent a four-page memo to John Sculley, CEO of Apple Computer, outlining a business plan for licensing the Macintosh OS. Earlier today we received that memo in a Fedex from Microsoft's PR firm, Waggener Edstrom. Scripting News is the first website to carry this letter. The letter also appears in a book by Jim Carlton about Apple, and in the current issue of Wired. http://www.scripting.com/specials/gatesLetter/text.html Comments later... Dave |
