Spring has Sprung
Monday, March 1, 1999 by Dave Winer.
Good afternoon!
A quick bit of love-making on a gorgeous Monday afternoon..
Some people don't like it when I write about springtime and flowers and sexuality and friendship. Sometimes even I would agree. In the darkest wettest part of winter it's easy to get bummed and it can be hard to imagine how I could be happy about my surroundings.
But I live in a very special part of Silicon Valley, it's largely unspoiled forest and dry brush, creeks and deer and raccoons (and skunks and bees). That's my neighborhood. And this week many of the trees are in bloom, spreading luscious sensual (and sexual) smells thru my little jungle, and curmudgeons aside, it's very difficult *not* to be in love this time of year, so let's not even try.
As they say spring has sprung, it's lovely here in my little garden, and if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, and it's still miserable and cold where you are, let me offer some encouragement. Spring is coming, and love can't be far behind!

PS: A curmudgeon is "a crusty irascible cantankerous old person full of stubborn ideas." That's what it says on WordNet! What a great word..
