Dinner in NY on WednesdayMonday, October 23, 2000 by Dave Winer. Good morning!A very brief piece this morning as I head out to SFO for a trip to the east coast of the United States of America. On Wednesday in New York City we will have another in a series of "Scripting News Dinners" where readers of DaveNet and Scripting News meet face-to-face to discuss the issues of the day, get to know each other, and eat some really greasy food. New York, of course, is the capital of greasy food. It's where I grew up, and where the Mets and Yankees are slugging it out in the World Series. I have a ticket for Thursday night's game. I'm also going to attend the launch event for Ray Ozzie's Groove product on Tuesday, and will be at the InternetWorld trade show on Wednesday. On Friday I'll hop a plane to Miami for swimming in a warm friendly ocean, and then next Monday it's back to work in the Bay Area. If you're going to be in New York on Wednesday, and would like to get together for some schmoozing, come on down. It'll be at 8PM. The venue is not yet decided, check www.scripting.com for the final plan on Wednesday morning. (Current front-runners are Katz's Deli on Houston and Ratner's on Delancey.) These events are always fun, I totally looking forward to meeting some of the people from New York. Dave Winer |
