A perfect story
There's a big debate on the XML developer list about a Sun patent that interferes with the W3C Xpointer activity.
The story has all the required elements of intrigue. A famous pundit, the leading Web technology consortium, a major platform vendor, and a browser feature that (as far as I know) no major browser implements.
Possible prior art. A disruption in the flow of new ideas.
