Important: Don't open email enclosuresTuesday, September 18, 2001 by Dave Winer. A new virus is spreadingThis morning a new virus is spreading through Internet email. It only runs on Windows machines, but the virus attacks everyone who uses email clients on Windows, Mac, Unix, etc. that can receive email enclosures. I'm sure the public security experts will figure out which virus this is and how to eradicate it, but in the meantime it is very very important that each of us not get caught. What you can doI'm going to say this three times so no one misses it. 1. If you use Windows, do not open enclosures to email messages. 2. If you use Windows, do not open enclosures to email messages. 3. If you use Windows, do not open enclosures to email messages.
