Have you noticed that it's rare for an OS or programming language to remain pretty much the same for as long as the Mac one has been around? Also that a new platform that isn't well accepted at first doesn't go even when the purported faults are fixed? (like the Apple ///). Will the Next OS gain respect when it comes from the past?

It might have been better to push today's Mac while demaloping a new OS from the ground up, simplifying things a bit, taking 1997 usage into account? (something that couldn't be said for the current ones).
