April 3 -- Developer Survey
Welcome to the third survey of platform choices for Macintosh developers. The first survey was conducted on January 2, and the second survey was held on January 14.
The third survey will be conducted on Thursday, April 3. The server will be open from 12:01AM to 11:59 PM Pacific on the 3rd. It's OK to point to this page in advance of the survey. This is the page that people will vote from. Thanks! DW Sponsorship. This survey is sponsored by MacWEEK and Seybold Seminars and Macintouch.
Goals. To learn more about the current direction of the Macintosh development community. A secondary goal is to understand how the direction changed during the week of January 6, when Apple communicated its direction to developers.
Timing. The survey begins on 4/3/97; 12:00:00 AM. It completes on 4/3/97; 11:59:59 PM. You can monitor the survey in real-time on the Survey Results page. When the survey is complete, come back to this page for the final results.
Respond to this survey only if you were actively developing software for the Macintosh or Next platforms in December 1996.
We want to know how you feel right now, at this moment. Do you know what platforms you'll be developing software for in the future? Base your responses only on what you know right now. You may change your mind later as more facts become available.
This isn't a corporate survey. If you work for a company that develops software for the Mac, or if you develop Mac software in your spare time, please fill out the form.
The responses are accumulated into a summary, so you aren't making a public statement. You may include the URL of a web page that describes your products, but unless you state your future platform preferences on your site, no one will know how you voted.
Please be honest about your true at-this-moment platform intentions.
