It's more of a "nudge" than a launch..

I just wrote a blog post on the main blog that points to the liveblog, so now we should be getting some visitors.

WIth Twitter's announcements today, there should be some stuff to liveblog about.

  • I haven't posted about the liveblog on Twitter or Facebook yet, but it is in the RSS feed. I'm watching the new connections showing up on the server, slowly. The updates go out so quickly, you can't see it happening. Node.js really is a miracle that way. wink

  • If you're new here, you can subscribe to this as an RSS feed. You won't get all the items, just the ones that I "publish" -- when I publish them. So you don't get all the updates. It has to reach a certain level of closure before it's published (my judgement). This is a new area, the liveblog stuff doesn't really map onto the items in an RSS feed. So it'll require a little experimentation.

  • The server is getting a small "load" now for the first time. Love Node.js. It can do a lot of work in very little time. wink

    • 40 clients got updated in a blink of the eye.

    • As Steve Jobs would have said: BOOOM! wink

    • I would have said: Bing!

    • Can you tell I like this new software??

    • I told Jake Savin this is a reboot of Manila. Not many people will understand what that means. Not sure if I understand what it means! Just following my nose, as I did with Manila. wink

    • BTW, the server supports Slack webhooks. That should be kind of interesting.

    • I am in that way an anti-NIHer. If someone else comes out with an open format or protocol that I can use, I just jump in with both feet. Why? Because I won't have to convince someone to work with me. They've already committed.
