I have a new piece of software coming later today that is based on a surprising feature in the Facebook API. And because of this feature, Facebook is actually a lot more open than people think it is.

One of my big goals has been to create a blogging system that could post to both my own blog and Facebook. This is the holy grail, because I want to keep a record in my space, as well as get the engagement you get from posting to Facebook.

I want the two versions to stay in sync, so when I make a change, it appears in both places.

And with this discovery, found with the help of some great people who work at Facebook, we will now be able to do all that.

I wanted to get a test version of this up as soon as possible. That's the software I'm getting ready to release. It works. I've been using it the last couple of days for all the test messages you've seen. And I'm using it right now to write this post.
