Bloggers who made a difference

When this blog started up I was trying to understand what the new publishing power would mean. One piece, written in February 1995, Billions of Websites, I think captured it best. The idea wasn't to start a single thing, rather to empower anyone to say what they see.

Granted, I was a bit more optimistic than I am now. Today my optimism today is tempered by the understanding that human beings are always human no matter how great our tools are.

Anyway, with the 20-year mark just two days away, I'm starting a list of bloggers who, 20 years later, made a difference in moving our species onto this medium we call the web. That's what I'm thinking about today and tomorrow. Who made a difference?

Caveat

BTW, my list of bloggers who made a difference is not even close to balanced on a gender, race or age basis. I'm not going to tweak the list, I'm not going to add bloggers I don't read or who haven't influenced me. But I will invite people to make their own lists, and tell us who made a difference to you. That's the bloggers way of doing things, imho. Come as you are, and let's work together. And since I'm sure this will piss some people off, please read the comment guidelines, before adding your two cents.
