New Scripting News home page
There's a new sidebar, the contents of the menubar moves there.

Another change on Scripting News, this time on the home page.

The menubar at the top of the page has moved into a (new) sidebar. Access the sidebar through the hamburger icon at the upper left edge of the screen.

When you click on it, the contents of the page slides to the right, and the menu slides in from the left.

Here's a short video demo of the new design.

The contents of the menu is exactly the same as the previous menu.

Why?

For a few reasons..

It's time for a new look.

I liked it when the home page was stark. When there was a big Scripting News banner down the left edge of the screen.

Honestly, when I implemented this, I thought I would re-introduce that element, but I liked the starkness so much, I wanted to live with it for a bit and see which way I was pulled.

I've enabled comments for this post, for kudos, slaps on the back, high fives and yes -- if there's some functionality that's gone or broken, please let me know. ;-)

PS: This change is only for the home page at this time. The story pages work as previously, with the menu at the top of the page.
