FILES-US-FRANCE-CINEMA-CANET

TO GO WITH AFP STORY "ENTERTAINMENT-US-FRANCE-FILM"(FILES) Photo dated May 17, 2008 shows French actor and director Guillaume Canet arriving to attend the screening of French director Daniel Leconte's film 'C'est Dur D'etre Aime Par Des Cons' (It's Hard Being Loved by Jerks) at the 61st Cannes International Film Festival in Cannes. His film "Tell No-One" was filmed in France, by a French director, using French actors speaking exclusively in French. So Canet was unsurprisingly baffled when it was explained to him why his acclaimed thriller "Tell No-One" had to wait two years before finally being released in the United States. "My producers told me that the distributors here really loved the movie, but the problem was that it was not a 'French' movie," Canet said. "To sell the film as a 'French' movie, people were expecting to see French images." AFP PHOTO/FILES/Francois GUILLOT
