MEXICO-US-MEDELLIN-DEATH SENTENCE

Eleuteria Armendariz, grandmother of Jose Ernesto Medellin, shows a newspaper cutting with a note and picture of her grandson who is sentenced to death in Texas, US, on June 23, 2008 in Nuevo Laredo. Mexico pleaded in the UN's highest court last week, the case of 50 of its citizens --among whom is Medellin-- who face execution in the United States despite having been denied a mandated review of their sentences.
