US-SPACE-WILDFIRES-CALIORNIA

This June 27, 2008 image provided by NASA shows smoke caused by wildfires in California captured from space by NASA's Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer's nadir (vertical-viewing) camera. Cape Mendocino is at the center of the image and Mt. Shasta is near the upper right. Concentrated smoke is visible in several river valleys and the large smoke cloud extends over the Pacific Ocean for hundreds of kilometers. AFP PHOTO / NASA == GETTY OUT ==
