BOLIVIA-US-DIPLOMACY-GOLDBERG

US ambassador to Bolivia Philip S. Goldberg, speaks with the press upon his arrival at El Alto's airport on July 2, 2008, back from the United States. On his arrival Goldberg said that it is necessary for both sides to work for improving the relation between the two countries. The ambassador had been recalled for consultations on embassy security in the wake of violent protests in front of the US embassy in La Paz on June 9 over revelations that Bolivia's former Defense Minister Carlos Sanchez Berzain had been granted political asylum in the United States last year.
