Getting started with your Blork
By Dave Winer on Tuesday, April 05, 2011 at 3:59 PM.

Greetings new user and welcome to the Blork community. Here you can follow news reported by your colleagues, or other communities, or news organizations. Any source that publishes an RSS feed. And share news you find with others in your community and beyond.  #

Here are some tips to help you get flowing with Blork.  #

1. At the top of the screen you'll see a menu of commands. The Feeds page is where you can see the feeds you're subscribed to, and add others.  #

2. It's really important to add the Bookmarklet. You'll find it on the Links page, which is in the middle of the menu at the top of the screen. #

3. If you want your posts to make it to Twitter, flip down the editor by clicking on the black down-arrow at the end of the menu. Then click on the tiny blue Twitter symbol, and follow the easy instructions to give permission to our feed-watching app to forward your posts to Twitter. The screen shot shows where to click.  #

4. Also from the editor, you can see your feed, or the history of your previous posts, or entry boxes that allow you to set a title or link, or add an enclosure (podcast) to an item. It's a full-blown feed editor, that can be super-fast and easy if you use the Bookmarklet to share links to stories.  #

5. If you have any questions or would like to be connected with other users, please join the mail list.  #

6. Why is it called Blork? We liked the name. It sounded friendly and fun, yet had an air of mystery. :-) #
