I was impressed by the story that pollution has gotten so bad in China that there was a huge drop in fireworks sales for the New Year celebration.

It was impressive that an environmental problem could get so bad that people would reduce consumption.

Usually we shrug off the problem as being impossible to deal with, and continue consuming. I do it too, so I'm not preaching.

I guess if you can't breathe there really isn't much fun in adding more smoke to the atmosphere.
