The Danish School of Journalism Niels Mørk describes the project:
Meeting the deadline.

Giving teachers and students automated access to a range of online databases, news agencies, Picture databases and research tools. We could not do this without Frontier.

In addition to the normal website management with Frontier and the normal scripting we do that goes with website management, we use Frontier to manipulate incomming news and photo feeds and to automatically build more than 5000 html pages of our 7000 page site.

Frontier thus gives Staff, students and teachers easy access via a net browser to:

  • Online databases (Dialog, Profile, Celex etc.)
  • Raw news telegrams direct from news agencies (Reuters and Ritzau)
  • Real-time wire service photographs and graphics
  • In-house produced magazines

Because we are a school, we have access to copywrited material and sources to assist our journalist students. We also protect those sources and restrict access to the photo and news sections of our web.

Here are a couple of screen shots that show our frontpage and what some of the screens look like.

The Danish School of Journalism The Design
ProjectX is a key tecnology for the Danish School of Journalism.

ProjectX was a major inspiration in our new design. In fact ProjectX is the basis for the graphic design.

Our experience is that ProjectX gives users an alternative to the limited experience of Hypertext. ProjectX is another way, and often a better way of looking at the information we present.

For the future journalists it gives an important message "Another point of view".
