Content Server

Automated Publishing with Frontier

Content Server is an automated system for managing large web sites with lots of authors.

Content Server allows your designers to design and your writers to write. Writers don't need to know html, graphics professionals don't need to learn site management, web designers don't need to create every page by hand.

In a nutshell: Content Server allows you to run Frontier's web site management system on your Mac OS server. You provide access via email and FTP to your writers and designers, and their uploaded and emailed content is automatically rendered into web pages.

This version was released 4/4/97. See Change Notes to find out what's new and what's fixed.

Talking about Content Server

The place for feedback, bug reports, suggestions, and feature requests is the "Frontier Webmaster list". Let's center Content Server discussion on that list, and leave the Frontier-talk, Frontier-beginners, and Frontier-code lists for other discussions.

Required Software

Content Server runs only on Mac OS computers right now. Along with server software, you need to provide FTP access and email access. We recommend NetPresenz for FTP and AIMS for email.

ContentServer also requires Frontier, naturally.
