Cameron's special characters

Today's real problem: When I use Frontier 4.2 in hand with Clay Basket 1.0b8e accented characters and such don't get processed properly anymore. This is important to me since I'm starting a project where half my site will be in French. Here is an example:

éand so í ® ¥ ø ¶ § ° [trademark] £ [oe] [omega] [radical] µ æ
